Newbies (also referred to as noobs or n00bs) were newcomers to the LEGO Message Boards. Some people called them n00bs, until Miakittymoon disallowed use of the term in order to avoid offense, and WhiteAlligator reiterated that later.

Newbie assistance Topics were for basic assistance, such as how to roleplay, what an HQ is, and other related topics. These topics were posted by regular users, and are then pinned topics by moderators. Almost every forum had a topic like this. Dwarfminefan580 created the topic Adopt A Newbie for more experienced users to assist newbies.
