All moderators have the rank Official. It is also a rank held by other LEGO employees. Official used to be only for employees, now its for moderators and employees. Nobody can achieve the rank unless they work for LEGO and own a LEGO ID. Officials have special ablities; that is, they have features regular users do not. One such is the power to mod and another would be using a different interface, as Officials have more features that help them with their jobs. There are three different types of Officials:  

1. Moderators: They moderate posts and take care of most of the LEGO Mesage Boards. They are also called mods for short.
2.  Administrators: They are the technical people of the LEGO Message Boards. They hardly post but they take care of most of the technical stuff.
3. Developers: They are the ones that develop or design stuff, such as the new LEGO ID interface for example. Currently, only 1 offical is a developer.
