Sheriff was the rank that all moderators had during the 2005-2012 LEGO Message Boards. Once a moderator was hired by LEGO, they automatically became a Sheriff, but they could not have any other rank. Officials were similar in that their rank did not change either. A moderator Miakittymoon (known as MKM), however, used coding to temporarily make herself an Artisan. If a Sheriff quit or was fired by LEGO, then they lost their Sheriff rank and become normal users with normal ranks, such as MasterBuilder.
