Source: Talk to the Mods

Talk to the Mods is a topic in the Message Board Help and Suggestions Forum. It was created by WhiteAlligator on December 12, 2012 in an attempt to rival the then-unparalleled stupidity of Yahoo Answers. It currently has 3,736 pages and 628 likes on the first post, and has sucked away over 7,000 hours of moderator productivity to date.

History[]

In 2006, Jammyjam10 created a topic called "Talk to the Mods" in the Community Chat Forum. It was used by newbies and old timers alike, with the idea that users could post a question and a Moderator would answer it. However, most of the moderators wished not to risk legal action conversing with actual children, so most questions were left ignored or given non-answers by useless post-farming spammers. Soon the original topic gained too many pages and was locked. However, a "Talk to the Mods 2: Even More Incomprehensible" was eventually posted. This time Moderators posted more often, mostly trying to figure out what the fuck was going on. This topic grew very popular, but was deleted after Keplers posted a dick pic and asked Wildbunchz if she'd "ever seen bumps like this before."

The topic went through 5 more installments, with each one becoming progressively worse, and is now in its 7th edition. The topic has been moved to the For Law Enforcement Reference Forum and renamed Talk to the Mods without the "7." When asked for comment on the renaming, the mod team responded to LMBW staff with, "trying to count these fucking questions is like trying to count stars in the galaxy, only way more lame."

Current Edition[]

The sixth edition was locked on Dec. 12 by WhiteAlligator since it had basically become a post farm for Marcel77799 on his quest for Maniac, with over 2,413 pages, 36,181 replies and 761 likes. She then created another one and banned all known spammers from replying to it.

Trivia[]

  • According to Miakittymoon, the sixth edition of TTTM would never be locked, and no more would be accepted. But because moderators would rather dick around and answer the same 800 questions over again by five year olds than do their jobs, this statement became obsolete.
  • Some forums have Talk To The ___(theme) threads, but these are much less popular. Some notable examples include "Talk to the Birds," by JesusChristFollower, "Talk to Our Lord and Savior," by Agentlevi jesusrocks, and "Get PMed By Me If You're Female," by skulduggery773.
  • Miakittymoon used to answer most of the questions in TTTM, because they were mostly iterations of "is miakittymoon single?" But other mods such as Dana80862 and Loekieloe would occasionally chime in to take a break from combing Alemas's 4000-word erotic roleplay posts in the LEGO Friends Forum for swear words. Currently, most of the active mods respond to the questions in TTTM, such as MKM and stevensbike.
  • It was the second topic to reach over 2,000 pages, after "LEGOLAND Glory Hole Seekers" in the LEGOLAND Forum.
  • The record for dumbest question asked to the mods is currently held by Alemas, who asked MKM, "How do lunch boxes work?" on September 9, 2015.
